Facilities Available - HISTOPATHOLOGY :
1. Routine Paraffin Sections: The surgically removed tissue
is fixed; processed, blocked, cut, stained, and is examined
under the microscope.

2. Frozen Section – For rapid diagnosis - Tissue sent
during the operation is rapidly frozen, cut, stained,
and a quick diagnosis is offered.
CYTOLOGY – the study of cells.

and examined are normally voided and catheter specimens
of urine, bladder, washings, endoscopic Brush.
•Oesophago–Gastrointestinal Tract:
The role of cytopathology in the field of gastro-enterology
has been extended in the last decade with the introduction of
the flexible fibre optic endoscope through which diagnostic
material may be obtained for histology and brush cytology.

This is a simple and quick method that can be done on an OPD
