The Dentistry Department of Dr. Balabhai Nanavati Hospital prides itself for changing with the times, and with medical advances in the field. In the 1960s, dental practices underwent rapid advances with numerous inventions and discoveries in the areas of Dental Material and instruments. With the new forms of treatment, and the prevention of carious, gingival disease and the replacement of lost teeth with ceramic bridges and implants, the era of modern dentistry began. Ankylosis of the tempromandibular joints, fractures of the facial skeleton including zygomatic bones, orthognathic surgery to correct various types of jaw deformities such as prognathic or retrognathic jaws and genioplasty. The Department has 2 full-time Dental Surgeons and Hon Oral & Maxillo Facial Surgeons.
